Pin custom fields & posts in the feed

With the last update, we introduced automatic notification of new posts for members. The result: more reach, more activity and more interaction in thousands of communities.

We are now expanding the ways in which communities can design themselves. The new user-defined fields make coapp even more flexible.

In detail:

🎢 More range. More activity. More interaction.

Since the introduction of notifications for new posts (which we announced by email on October 1), we have seen significantly more activity and interaction across all communities.

✨ User-defined fields

With the user-defined fields, you as the admin have full control over what information is recorded or displayed. You can select the appropriate data type for each field - from free text to multiple selection.

The following examples show how versatile user-defined fields can be:

  • Text field: e.g. "Favorite book" or "Job description"

  • Number field: e.g. "Number of employees" or "Identification number"

  • Date field: e.g. "Date of accession"

  • Yes/No field: e.g. "Newsletter subscribed"

  • Selection field: e.g. "Network me with" - investors, startups, coaches

  • Multiple selection: e.g. "Interests" or "Skills"

This function allows you to manage all member data in one central location - so you can dispense with separate CRMs, lists and documents.

It also forms the basis for many new, powerful Features that will become available to both admins and the community in the coming months.

👀 New profile interface

We have also revised the profile management in the Manage area to accommodate the new user-defined fields. The layout now offers more space and a better overview, so that additional information is visible at a glance.

Pin posts in the feed!

from now on you can pin posts in the feed! - perfect for announcements, events or welcome posts!

To pin: Simply click on the three dots at the top right of the post and select "Pin".

The function is for Professional and Business plans available.

The last days of social media - and why small communities are the future

It is becoming increasingly clear to us that open networks, which once began with the promise of connecting people globally, have largely lost their social core. It is precisely in this change that we at coapp see our task - to create a tool that can be used to create your own social spaces: independent, valuable and lively.
